I happen to have a really cute insulated wine bag that we got at a trade show a few years ago. I honestly hadn’t used it very much before, but I recently discovered all these cool uses for it. I think it’s so cute and came up with four different ways to use it, a few having nothing to do with wine!
1. Use a Wine Bag as a Diaper Bag
I actually prefer the backpack style of diaper bag. This is the one I use and love. It’s basically my personal bag now. We don’t go places with the girls a ton, so I primarily am using my “diaper bag” as my carrier for my laptop etc. when I go out.
But sometimes when we have someone else take the girls somewhere, or if we go out and I still want to bring all my stuff, rather than give up my personal bag, I discovered that my wine bag transitions perfectly as a diaper bag! It has four large compartments on the interior, and an exterior zippered area with all kinds of little compartments. And it’s insulated, so perfect for traveling with milk!
2. Use a Wine Bag as a Breastmilk Travel Bag
We recently got back from a trip without the babies. Before we left, I had to come up with a storage solution for all the bags of breastmilk I would be producing for the return trip. I looked on Amazon and was going to buy an insulated bag for traveling with breastmilk. But everything I saw didn’t really look big enough, and I think the small cooler bags are more for daily use for people who send their child with bottles for one day at childcare.
Not that I have a ton of breastmilk bags from our weekend getaway, but I was happy to realize that my wine bag would be perfect for the task. Again, it has the three large compartments to fit three wine bottles, and another large compartment next to the wine bottle storage area. This bag has a ton of places to fit as many bags of milk a girl could pump during a weekend getaway.
3. Use a Wine Bag as a Shopping Bag
I actually never used this bag for shopping before our trip. But since we brought it with us and were in the city, it made sense to bring it to Target to stock up on items for our hotel room during our first night away. It fit everything we bought. Now I’m considering bringing it to the grocery store on a regular basis. It’s already insulated and fits so many items!
4. Use a Wine Bag for a Picnic Date
The real reason we got this bag was so we could take it out for picnics with a bottle of wine every once in a while. I also have a very sweet picnic basket my husband got me years ago that we use sometimes, but this bag is like our travel sized picnic basket that we can take with us on trips or whenever the picnic basket seems too bulky.
There you go. Four uses for a cute wine bag, most of which I didn’t even realize until recently! We love having less stuff, especially living in a smaller house. I’m so glad I didn’t go out and buy a specific cooler bag when I didn’t really need it, and looking forward to getting to repurpose this bag more often. Do you have a wine bag collecting dust? Or one that you have found more uses for?
I love having muli-uses for items which means less stuff for a minimalist like me 🙂
yes definitely!
This is an amazing take on wine bags! I love it and I need one now.
Aw thanks! You will love it!
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing!
Love this post and love using bags for multiple purposes. I needed a wine bag recently when I went to a gender reveal. This one is so cute!!
