Blogust Schedule at a Glance

Since I have committed myself to 30 more consecutive days of posting, I figured today would be a good time to plan out my posts for the month. I have been wanting to do this ever since I started blogging but never got a grip on the organization of my thoughts more than a few days in advance.

Themed Days

I have always liked the idea of posting based on specific themes on certain days of the week. This is how I came up with the idea for Meditation Mondays. Here is the general idea for my posting schedule during Blogust:

For the longest time, I have been working on getting into a good habit of planning out healthy meals in advance. While we were going through the transition of the move, meal planning was one of the first things to go out the window. These past few weeks I have started getting back into planning out meals and finally think I came up with the setup I would like to use (in Evernote, of course!). Tomorrow I will share my method of planning meals for the upcoming week, and each Sunday this month I will share my meal plan for the week and a healthy recipe we have found to be worth making again.

Meditation Mondays

I will stick to Meditation Mondays for the month of August, especially since I have signed up for the Oprah & Deepak 21-Day Meditation Experience: Expanding Your Happiness. This will work out perfectly because the program starts on August 11 and will carry me through the rest of the Mondays in August, posting about my experience with the guided meditations. I am excited because this will be my first time participating in any kind of “meditation experience”, outside of yoga classes. This coming Monday I will post an overview of the program (which is free to sign up for, by the way! We can do it together!).

Tuesdays & Thursdays

I don’t want to have a theme for every day of the week, so Tuesdays and Thursdays will be more wildcards. I want to allow space for myself to write about a random thought should one come to me, or to write about another topic (including book nook reviews) that doesn’t fit into my other themes. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be designated for those types of more random topics.

Wedding Planning Wednesdays

Okay, I know I am going overboard with the alliterations, but this one came to mind and makes sense for me right now since I have been engaged for two months and still don’t have a thing planned. My hope is that by the end of the month we will have a wedding planner on board and have chosen a date and venue. Once those big things are squared away, I think the other details will be easier to decide on (I hope!).

Fiction Fridays

On Fridays, I will post about my progress on my novel, and the experience I had with writing that week. It is really scary for me to announce this as a category, because I feel totally foreign to the world of writing, although I desperately want to be a part of it. So I am going for it! I might also post about what I am reading in fiction on Fiction Fridays. These posts might be shorter than what typically write.

After moving into a new home about two months ago, there are still small areas of our home that haven’t yet been organized. These include the kitchen pantry, master bathroom, upstairs hall bathroom, and the downstairs guest bedroom. These areas are now for the most part functional, but lack the zen organization could bring to them. My goal for this month is to focus on one area per week and to post the progress on Saturdays.

I was tempted to purchase a blogging calendar I came across on another blog the other day, but refrained because I truly already have my own planning systems in place. I just like the pretty colors of planners so much! But, I tend to spend all my time planning and then don’t leave enough time for the doing. Planning out my posting schedule for August has been fun, but I will have to pull out some major self-discipline to see it through. Time to get to work. Here’s to actually doing the things we planned to do! Namaste!
