I like to eat chocolate pretty much everyday. One way or another, I find it. Or it finds me in the impulse buy section at the cash register at the grocery store.
In college, I almost ALWAYS had a small bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips in the freezer from which I would take a generous handful or two on a daily basis. One time my diet-conscious roommate asked me if I put them in the freezer so I wouldn’t eat too much at once. That might have originally been my strategy, but making chocolate ice cold in Florida only made it that much more enticing.

The BEST Peanut Butter You Can Buy
I LOVE peanut butter. Maybe it’s genetic. Or maybe it’s that peanut butter is amazing. Probably both. I might be addicted.
My Friend Peanut Butter
Over the past few years, I have become more conscious of the ingredient lists of products I buy at the store. I stated to take note that sugar and its companions were in a lot of the things I was buying, including peanut butter. Even some organic peanut butter.
I wasn’t all that upset over it. I considered peanut butter to be something of a treat and made the deal with myself that I would make an exception for this small joy.
Each day when I would make my yummy peanut butter banana smoothie, or take a spoon from the silverware drawer to transport a heaping scoop of peanut buttery goodness directly to my mouth, I thought: yeah, there’s some sugar in there, but it is so worth it!
I thought about it some more, and started considering that perhaps it really wasn’t all that worth it. After carefully comparing peanut butter jar labels, I made a new deal that I would give the kind of peanut butter that comes with a thick layer of oil on top and has to be refrigerated a try. continue…
